Meet Mike tonight, August 8th at 6:30 Pm 1765 E 1350 N Heber City, Utah
Help us campaign today for a better tomorrow!
Mike has lived in Heber Valley for 40 years. This community raised him. The beautiful natural surroundings shaped him. Mike believes Heber is a special place and it deserves to be preserved and protected. That doesn't mean shunning progress and growth. It means making a concerted and determined effort every day to keep our community close, to build purposefully, and to grow sustainably and evenly.
Heber basically has the same collector roads today that it did in 1985 when Mike moved to the valley. There were only 4,000 people here then. That needs to be addressed yesterday. Mike wants to find innovative ways to make our existing roads work better for us. In some limited situations, we also need new pathways for residents to get around quickly and safely. A bypass is still 10 years away. We need solutions now.
Over the course of his adult life, Mike has seen numerous examples of government underthinking and overspending our tax dollars. This behavior has increased alarmingly in the past 8 years. The city comes to us with another tax increase seemingly every year. Then when they get the money, instead of solving urgent problems, they spend it on unnecessary and frivolous pet vanity projects. We work hard for the money we earn. The city must respect that and treat our tax dollars as sacred.
City leaders seem to answer to no one. It is high time that someone holds them accountable. Mike will do just that. Right out of the gates, Heber will undergo a thorough independent audit of its financials. Heber City taxpayers deserve to know in detail where their money is going and why. We deserve to know where the waste, fraud, and abuse is occurring and we deserve leaders who will put an end to those actions. Mike will ensure that our city leaders do not profit personally from any city projects to expenditures and he will root out corruption wherever it exists.
Mike grew up hiking in the surrounding hills and mountains, playing in the endless fields, and swimming in the rivers and reservoirs. Hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, skiing, swimming, and golfing. Heber is an unrivaled jewel for the outdoor activities it offers. We are a destination. Tourism is our only true industry. We MUST preserve these things. They are why we moved here. They are why people come and spend their money here. Our clean air and beautiful views are precious. We cannot allow incompetence and corruption destroy what we have. Mike will stop high density developers from paving our paradise.
